me at the middle,Max on the right side of the picture, Barak who recently won his brand new black belt -on the left.my coach proposed me long time ago to go for the brown belt, i am blue for about 5-6 years. even though i can do without contests (because i am veteran) i feel that first i have to earn some points wining at contests. to win a fight against one with the same belt color that you got -gives you half point. to defeat a belt over you (like for me to defeat a brown belt)-will rank you in 1 point. and defeating two belt ranks above you exonerare 1.5 points (for me to defeat a black belt). the belts color has its order in this fashion: you start at white, then yellow, purple, orange, green, blue, brown, black named Dan 1. after black there still ranks from Dan 1 and up. these are more honor and knowledge ranks given for senior instructors
