TERMINAL SERVICES: port 3389
setup TS (add\remove),setup licence server that is
behind terminal services (2 free licence)
it is not secure to make it on DC.at AD tab profile
--> ordinary enter terminal tab allow log on as TS.
-office setup on terminal - make a setup from the terminal
itself to do it with office97: at \winnt\aplication
compability list\office97\setup before ofice setup.
-AD users,user prop,terminal services tab,user profile:
c:\tsprofiles(share) home path:c:\tshomes.
to install on 98:
run: \\srv1\c$\program files\terminal services\client\conman.exe.
admin tools , terminal services, action , activate server.
Client:run:c:\winnt\system32\clients\tscclient\net\win32\setup
access remote admin Server01:
right click my comp,properties,advanced tab, performance options,under
optimize,verify that background services is selected.
from admin tools open terminal services configuration,
connection--> right click RDP-tcp,prop, session tab,
select overide user settings. end disconnected session
5 minutes,idle session limit 10 minutes.
at general tab, enctiption level box-high,permitions tab
add admins+ full control,ok close.
-application mode : reinstall TS as apps mode and client
licencing ! than open the policy:start|programs|admin tools|
domain controlers security policy|security settings folder|
local policies|user rights assignments|under policy|
(allow)log on localy|add the appropriate group.
at the cmd run: secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce
(after that u must c: group policy propegation from the
domain..has bin initiated..)
-can be seen from the explorer http://LONDON/tsweb
no need for licence for 2000 client
from the xp mstc+mstcax.dll files can work as terminal
from 2000 to xp.
-install office at the server before u install ts.
for office 2002(xp) no configuration needed but for
office 2000 u need first to log on at ts from station,
run outlook,quit outlook.
