sbs Upgrade Additional Stuff
Additional stuff:
1. assigning permitions to migrated users:
at server 2k3, server managment| click users|
change users permitions|select appropriate template |
replace any previose permitions
2. assigning client computer applications: (only 2k,xp,2k3)
at server managment| client computers|select assign
application to client computers.
3. add a printer and share it, configure fax, configure
monitoring and backup
4. add distribution groups, pop3 connector, import back
admin mail from .pst
5. log in at every client computer,install mail + start now
to install server applications, configure isa server
again to port 8080.

6. removing permitions used for migration:
from cmd the start like before (at 19) but instead of
/add do /delete
restart destination server
7. uninstall ADMT
8. at server console configure password policies to
harden the passwords
9. connect to the internet
10. shut down the source server +disconnect the network and
keep it for a week
11. shadow copy: right click on C:|shadow copy tab| c the
next run time
at client install \\server\clientapps\shadowcopyclient.msi
*err:if u cannot install on client: log on as admin and add
user1 to administrators group.
restoring the missing data: right click on the file on
server|nevigate to
previose version tab than choose copy or restore
12. creating public folder: on server:
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\ExAdmin
at ShowSecurityPage change to 1
at exchange system manager right click organization
name|properties|security tab| add the create top level
public folder to everyone group
permitions u do from outlook, right click sharing.
at delivery options u can send on behalf (exch server
manager, right click on public folder)
at exchange advanced tab remove checkmark:hide from
exchange address list

16. filtering mail for non existing recipients: expand
echange|global settings | message delivery properties|
recipient filtering tab | select filter
recipients who r not in the directory ok.
expand Server|test2 | protocols | SMTP | reight click
default smtp virtual server properties| general tab click
advanced |edit |apply recipient Filter
ok.
now u can send mail by telnet 25 only to local users
not to outsiders!
