QUOTA:
install rpm : quota
must have a separate partiton
at /etc/sysctl.conf: kernel.sysrq = 1
at /etc/fstab: defaults,usrquota 1 2
mount -o remount /stuff,
touch /usr/quota.user
.group
chmod 600 /usr/quota.user + group
quotacheck -vagum /usr
edquota -u user-name /usr
(a vi editor must b opened automaticaly)
.e.g.: soft 3000KB hard limit 4000 KB:
at the middle line: limits: soft=3000 hard=4000
quotaon /stuff (quotaoff )
reboot
try this:
info:
sysctl -p
edquota -p elvis prince
--> mimic elvis policy 2 prince
-t --> establish a grace period
with user name mosh at
/stuff make a big file like 4 mega:
dd if=/dev/zero of=bigfile count=4 bs=1048576
#should succeed
quota -v --> shows the users limits
errors:
-if it doesnt work: make a file in /stuff
--> aquota.user than run again
the command, if still doesn"t help:
make a file at /stuff/quota.user than
run : convertquota -u /home and : quotaon -a
-"disk quotas for user ronen: none" :
maby reboot will help
